Diane Gonda

Diane, along with her husband Sam, is co-owner of Aqua Action. She obtained a degree in marketing from Kent State University and her Juris Doctorate from Cleveland Marshall Law School. She owned her own law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. She finally got tired of the stress of the courtroom and pressed the "escape" button on her computer and ended up in St. Thomas. She is a TDI/SDI Divemaster and PADI Assistant Instructor. So when diving with Diane, you'll ALWAYS have a shark in the water!!!

William (Bill) Westman

Bill is our Maritime Director.  He and his wife Summer moved to St. Thomas in 1996. He started diving in 2003. After 30 years of Federal Law Enforcement, Bill retired in 2008. After he retired, he completed his Divemaster certification as well as obtaining his Masters License from the U.S. Coast Guard. Most days you’ll find Bill leading certified divers on boat dives, and when not underwater, captaining our dive boat Ocean Express.

James (Jim) Brown

Jim is our Director of Training, and has been instructing students in scuba diving for over 12 years. He loves teaching and is known to have very patient and gentle teaching skills. He has certified over 500 divers in many different courses. He is most passionate about entry-level courses because he loves to experience the joy of a new diver after their first dive.

Jim has experience not only training students, but also in sales, customer service, and repair of rental equipment. He has been recognized by PADI as one of their Elite Instructors.

Susan (Sue) Rhodes

Sue is our Store Manager. While vacationing on St Thomas, Susan’s family decided that the island was what they were looking for in a place to call their new home. Susan, her husband Randy, and her daughter’s family relocated from Texas in 2008 and began their new adventure and living life to its fullest. Susan joined Aqua Action Dive Center in November 2009, where you will find her greeting you at the door or on the phone, scheduling excursions, renting equipment, stocking the store, filling tanks, or just having great fun.

Richard (Rick) Manseau

Rick started diving in 1974 in the frigid waters of New England. After a stint in the US Army and over 20 years in law enforcement Rick retired and began working on his advanced PADI certifications. After attaining Divemaster status Rick and his wife decided it was time to move to St Thomas where he spends his time working for Aqua Action Dive Center and studying for his Captain's License.

Nathanial (Skeeter) and Amy Kelley

Skeeter is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and USCG 100 ton captain, originally from Montana. Skeeter learned to dive when he was 14 years old along with his Dad, who was deputy sheriff, so they could be members of their local search and rescue team. After many years of teaching scuba diving in lakes, quarries, and under ice, Skeeter decided that it was time to head south to warmer and more colorful waters. In 2006 he bravely packed up his belongings and headed south to work on a liveaboard in the Cayman Islands. A few months later, his future wife joined the crew.

Amy is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and a USCG 100 ton Captain, originally from Chicago. A former high school Spanish teacher, she finds her language and teaching skills very useful working in the boating and diving industry. Amy began her professional dive career in 2003 in the Bay Islands of Honduras. She lived, worked, and traveled extensively through Central America and the Caribbean. She worked for Broadreach, a youth outdoor education company, and took groups of marine biology students around the leeward islands of the Caribbean (St. Martin, Ile Fourche, St. Barths, St. Kitts, Statia, and Saba) on a liveaboard catamaran sailboat teaching them scuba diving, sailing, leadership skills, and marine biology. In 2006, while working on a scuba liveaboard called the Nekton Rorqual in the Cayman Islands, she met her future husband, Skeeter, who was also crewing on that same liveaboard.

Their shared passions for travel, boating and diving took them to many beautiful places around the world. Amy and Skeeter worked as dive instructors in the Cayman Islands, St. Croix, Tortola, Thailand, and Palau. They led liveaboard humpback whale snorkeling excursions on the Silver Bank north of the Dominican Republic. Amy and Skeeter moved to the US Virgin Islands in 2012, and are currently living on their sailboat which they are fixing up and preparing to sail down island and eventually, around the world.

Grant Cauley

After growing up hiking and skiing in the Adirondack Mountains, Grant moved south to attend Clemson University. Upon completion of his degree he decided to drive to Lake Tahoe and be a ski bum for a little while! He spent two great years in South Lake Tahoe tending bar and skiing a bunch, but warmer climates were calling his name! From the NoCal mountains to the SoCal beaches…San Diego was his next stop. Living in Pacific Beach for eight years he worked in a variety of bars and restaurants. In 2007 he flew to Thailand and signed up for a diving internship. He spent seven months there traveling around and becoming a dive instructor with Aquanauts Dive. Upon returning to San Diego he spent a summer working for Scuba San Diego, diving and leading kayak and snorkel tours in the beautiful La Jolla Cove! In October of 2008 he booked a one way ticket to St. Thomas! He gained employment at the Caribbean Saloon as a bartender and work part time as a dive instructor at Aqua Action. No bad days!
